What gets saved
- Without an account: your rounds, courses and buddy list stay on your device only. Nothing leaves your phone or computer.
- With an account: the same rounds, courses and buddy list are also stored in your private account (Google Firebase) so they show up on any device where you sign in. Only you can read or change them.
- We keep your email address so you can sign in. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase. We never see them.
Sharing a round
Rounds are private unless you tap Share. A shared round shows only that one round (the course, the date, the scores of the players you picked, and Pete's verdict) to anyone with the link. Nothing else from your account. Tap Stop sharing, or delete the round, and the link goes dead.
Your buddies
If you add someone as a golf buddy (or they add you), you can each see the other's name, handicap, and your own scores from your rounds, and you show up on each other's monthly leaderboard. Other players in your rounds aren't shown. Tee times you post are seen only by your buddies, along with who's in. Remove someone from your buddies anytime and they can't see you anymore.
Playing together
When you play together, the people in that round see your name and your scores for that round as you play. Anyone you send the round's link to can join it once they sign in. Nothing else from your account is shown.
You only get email from Punk Head Pete if you check the Legend List box (or tap "Count me in"), or if you ask Pete's Yardage Card to "Email me my card." You'll get a confirmation email first, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Your email is never sold or shared.
When you use "Email me my card," your email, the name on your card and a link holding your club names and carry distances are saved with our email service (Kit) so Pete can send you your card. That's all it's used for.
No ads, no selling your data
No ads, and we never sell or share your data. Your scores are your business. Even the snowmen.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the scorecard get used (like how many rounds get finished or shared). It doesn't get your name, your email or your scores.
The scorecard also keeps its own anonymous count so we know how it's doing. For each round it notes the day, the course, 9 or 18 holes, how many players, and whether you were signed in. It also notes which days the app gets opened (and on what kind of phone), and which features get used, like Ask Pete or Settle the bet. Each note carries a random code for the phone that isn't tied to you. It never includes names, emails or scores, and only Pete can see these counts.
Delete your stuff
Want your account and rounds deleted? Email pete@punkheadpete.com from the address you signed in with and it's gone. Rounds saved only on your device can be cleared from your browser settings anytime.
